Bankura topped the list of highest temperature degrees in the state on Thursday. The temperature there was 44.3 degrees Celsius.
Apart from this, 20 other cities in the state recorded temperatures of 40 degree Celsius. On Thursday, April 20, the maximum temperature in the city was 41°C, 39.2°C, 39.8°C, 40°C, 38.6°C, 40.6°C and 40.7°C respectively. Kolkata has been witnessing continuous heat waves for these few days.
The Alipore Meteorological Department said that heatwave conditions may also develop in Kolkata on Friday. But the weather will change from Saturday. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also forecast in the city on Sunday.
