Mamata Banerjee is still the poorest Chief Minister in the country. According to ADR's report, 29 of the country's 30 chief ministers are millionaires. Even Pinarayi Vijayan, the only Chief Minister of the proletarian party CPM, is a millionaire. Mamata Banerjee is the only exception in the entire list.

According to the ADR report, the assets of the state chief minister are just over Rs 15 lakh.  In fact, the chief minister does not take a salary even though she has been a public representative for a long time. She does not get a pension as an MP, nor does he get the salary of the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister's source of income is only her books and paintings. Followers call her a symbol of honesty. The opposition also made thousands of accusations against her, but the opposition could not accuse Mamata of any personal corruption.

At a time when the ruling party has been plagued by a series of corruption allegations in the state, the Chief Minister's clean image will give some relief to the Trinamool (TMC).
