CBI at Kaku's house in Kalighat, search is also going on at the house of 'Bhaja', close to Partha
CBI raided the house of Kaku alias Sujaykrishna Bhadra in Kalighat. Apart from this, the CBI is also searching the house of Ward No. 128 councilor Partha Sarkar alias 'Bhaja', known as the 'closer' of former education minister Partha Chattopadhyay. According to CBI sources, this operation is for the investigation of cases related to recruitment corruption in the houses of two persons.
CBI officials are conducting searches at four places in the city simultaneously on Thursday morning to investigate recruitment corruption. Apart from 'Kalighater Kaku', 'Bhaja', and businessman Santu, the CBI has also appeared at the house of Sukant Acharya, former Apta Aide of former Education Minister Partha.
A source of Sujaykrishna's dealings with Shantanu Banerjee, who was caught by the ED, also emerged during the investigation. He himself admitted the transaction. Sujaykrishna said that he had invested money in Shantanu's wife's company. He said that he bought land worth Rs 40 lakh from Shantanur for doing business. Paid by check.
Sujaykrishna's story was first brought to light by Tapas Mandal, who was caught in the recruitment corruption case. Sujaykrishna had earlier been summoned to the Nizam Palace for questioning by the CBI. Later he and his family members were also sent for bank documents. Sujaykrishna also claimed that he submitted all those documents to the CBI.
