Sharad Pawar was present at the launch of his autobiography on Monday afternoon. From there, he announced that he was stepping down from the post of party leader. But will continue active politics. In the speech, he said, 'I know when to stop.' It is known that the NCP has formed a special panel to appoint the next president of the party. The rebel leader of the party Ajit Pawar has also been kept in that panel. Soon after Pawar's announcement, his followers started protesting. They also requested Pawar to withdraw the resignation decision. However, on behalf of the party, Ajit Pawar said that the newly ex-supremo will accept the party's decision regarding the resignation. Prafulla Patel, a member of the NCP presidential election panel, said that no one knew about the decision to resign in advance.

Sharad Pawar played a major role in the formation of the Maha Bikash Agari government in Maharashtra.

Power's established team is facing several questions due to the sudden resignation. However, a section of informed circles believes that his nephew Ajit Pawar is going to be the next supremo of the party. However, it is not yet known when the name of the next president of NCP will be announced.
