Rain on the weekend Alipur Meteorological Department gave the forecast

According to the report of the air office, the temperature in Bankura district may exceed 44 degrees on Wednesday. Temperatures are likely to be very high in Maldah or Birbhum as well. According to the weather office, heatwave conditions will continue in all districts of South Bengal including Kolkata till Thursday. Uncomfortable weather with heat is likely till Friday. For the next five days, there will be no major change in the temperature in the districts of South Bengal, the temperature will be 4-5 degrees above normal. Temperatures may drop slightly by the end of the week. The weather may change in South Bengal on April 22. The Ganga coastal districts are likely to receive scattered showers by the end of the week.

 The maximum temperature in Darjeeling district has crossed 24 degrees and is now likely to exceed 25 degrees. Mercury started rising in all districts including Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong. The maximum temperature in Bagdogra is reaching around 38 degrees. Weather department said that the sky of North Bengal will be completely dry on Wednesday. However, Darjeeling district may receive very light rain accompanied by thundershowers. After Wednesday, the amount of rain will increase in North Bengal on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Kalimpong districts may experience light to moderate rainfall for 4 to 5 consecutive days. This rain will spread over North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Maldah districts after Friday.

As per the warning, the heat wave will not abate in patches from West Bengal for now. Heat wave warning has been issued in almost all the districts of South Bengal on Wednesday as well. According to the forecast, not only South Bengal, but also the north will feel intense heat. Heat wave may continue in some areas of North Bengal's Malda, and South Dinajpur districts.
