Easier Kolkata-Bangladesh travel, new rail route is being launched

Indians and Bangladeshis rely on trains to travel. There are several international trains to travel between the two countries. And new routes are going to be inaugurated to facilitate this service.

The new route will take five months to travel from Kolkata to Bangladesh or Bangladesh to Kolkata. Agartala to Dhaka to Kolkata or Kolkata to Dhaka service is starting in September. Currently, it takes 31 hours to reach Kolkata via Agartala, Guwahati. In that case, the destination can be reached in just 10 hours on this new route.

The construction of the railway line from Agartala to Dhaka in Bangladesh is progressing rapidly. Tripura Transport Minister Sushant Chowdhury said that if everything goes well, the Agartala to Dhaka railway line will be completed in September itself. Already, 73 percent of Bangladesh and 85 percent of India's work has been completed.

If the train runs on this new route, the distance from Agartala to Kolkata will be reduced by 550 km, similarly, the distance from Dhaka to Kolkata will also be reduced. Naturally, West Bengal will increase its communication with the neighboring state of Tripura or the neighboring state of Bangladesh.
