Elon Musk's Horrible Allegation on WhatsApp

Elon Musk quotes an engineer as saying, 'WhatsApp can't be trusted at all.' The Twitter engineer's tweet against WhatsApp has gone viral. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development Department of the Center said that based on this complaint, the Government of India will investigate the matter.

Citing the tweet of the Twitter engineer named Fawad Dabiri, Rajeev Chandrasekhar writes, “Such a violation of people's privacy can never be acceptable. We will immediately look into this and act against any breach of privacy even after the new Digital Personal Data Protection Bill DPDP is ready.”

The engineer named Dabiri claimed in his tweet that when he sleeps at night, WhatsApp uses the microphone in the background of his Pixel phone. In his words, “When I was sleeping, WhatsApp was using the microphone in the background. When I woke up at 6 am, the messaging platform was still doing this. What's going on?"

He mentioned that the incident happened on his Pixel 7 Pro phone. As soon as this tweet went viral, WhatsApp officially acknowledged the issue. However, they have completely blamed Android for that. The world's most popular instant messaging platform says the problem is not WhatsApp, but Android. They also emphasize once again that all WhatsApp messages and calls are protected by end-to-end encryption.
