Critically ill Pope Francis, hospitalized in Rome with respiratory problems

Pope Francis is sick. Admitted to hospital in Rome. He will have to stay in the hospital for the next few days. According to the Vatican, the Pope has been diagnosed with respiratory problems. He was suffering from shortness of breath for some time.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni initially said Pope Francis had been taken to hospital for a routine physical examination. Later, however, he changed his statement and said that Pope Francis was admitted to the hospital with a respiratory tract infection. For the sake of treatment, he will have to stay at Gemili Hospital for some time.

This month marks 10 years of Pope Francis' tenure at the Vatican. He had several important programs based on that formula. But for now all that has been cancelled. Francis's health has not been going well for a couple of years. In 2021, he was admitted to this Jamili Hospital with indigestion and intestinal inflammation. At that time the Pope underwent bowel surgery. But he recovered quickly. Since then he is overcome with knee pain. The Pope has been seen moving around in a wheelchair on several occasions.
