PT Usha's comment on wrestlers is a response to Mahua-Priyanka

Recently, serious allegations of sexual harassment have been made against the President of the Wrestling Federation and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. In this atmosphere, the Tabar wrestlers of the country have come down the road and walked on the path of movement. And for that, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat were 'cannoned' by the President of the Indian Olympic Association and Rajya Sabha MP PT Usha.

He said, 'There should have been some sense of discipline. They should have come to the Olympic Organization.' PT Usha also complained, 'The wrestlers are destroying the honor of the country.' PT Usha's comment caused a storm of controversy. In this situation, PT Usha was replaced by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Panthi) MPs Priyanka Chaturvedi and Mahua Maitra. Two leaders tweeted about this.

In a tweet, Priyanka addressed PT Usha and wrote, 'I'm sorry ma'am. But we should collectively stand by the women athletes of the country. We cannot complain that they are defaming the country. They honored us by winning medals for the country.' Earlier, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Maitra also slammed PT Usha for his comments. She wrote in a tweet, 'Sexual harassment allegations have been made against the MPs of the ruling party, who have been the president of the wrestling federation for many years. Delhi Police is not taking any action despite Supreme Court orders. As a result, the fragrance of roses is coming out of the country? Don't crawl.'

Vinesh Phogat told the news agency Indian Express on this issue, 'There is a reason why the Olympic Organization or the Sports Ministry of India is not listening to us. I called PT Usha. But she did not pick up my phone.' He also said, 'The whole country worships cricket. But now not a single cricketer is opening his mouth. We are not asking them to speak for us. But tell me something. Let them open their mouths for justice even if they are neutral. This is the cause of my pain.

Be it a cricketer, be it a badminton player, be it an athlete or a boxer... let them open their mouths.' Citing the example of 'Black Lives Matter', Vinesh said, 'It's not like we don't have big athletes in our country. There are cricketers. They expressed their views during the Black Lives Matter movement. We don't even deserve that.'
