All kinds of religious events are banned on the roads of Uttar Pradesh

During the upcoming Eid, Akshaya Tritiya, and Parashuram Jayanti celebrations in Uttar Pradesh, no religious events will be allowed on the streets. Steps have been taken to avoid congestion on the roads.

According to administrative sources, all the district commissioners of the state were directed to perform religious functions indoors on Thursday (April 20). No one will be allowed to block the road.

Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad and Special Director General of Police (SDGP) Prashant Kumar directed all field officers like ADG, Inspector General (IG), Deputy IG, District Police Chiefs, Divisional Commissioners, and District Magistrates in this regard.

The Chief Secretary said, 'All Deputy Commissioners will ensure that religious functions are held at designated places. Under no circumstances can any religious ceremony be held by stopping road and traffic. In the past, we have been able to do this through proper communication and coordination. We will make similar efforts this year too.'

He also said that all district administrators should be careful about sharing information on social media. Anything that may hurt public sentiments cannot be posted. Also, religious processions will not be allowed without prior permission.

Prasad also said, 'Safety of citizens is our main responsibility. Eid-ul-Fitr, Akshaya Tritiya, and Parashuram Jayanti may be celebrated on the same day on April 22. In the current environment, the police should be extra careful.'

Special DGP Prashant Kumar suggested frequent police patrols to strengthen law and order in the state. He said, 'We have to keep an eye on suspicious activities. Every important incident should be videographed.' Director General of Police RK Vishwakarma also reviewed the preparations of Zonal, Range and District Commissioners for the upcoming festivities.
