Why didn't the dinosaurs go extinct but not the birds?

Birds evolved during the age of dinosaurs about 160 million years ago. But 66 million years ago, dinosaurs could not survive due to a mass extinction, but birds not only survived but also evolved over time.

Birds and dinosaurs lived together on earth for about 100 years but gradually they started to diverge from the dinosaurs. They then belong to the feathered theropod family. But suddenly one day a huge asteroid collided with the earth and caused a huge change in the climate.

After that the dinosaurs became completely extinct, but some birds survived, which scientists have found out through research. Today birds do not have teeth, but they do have beaks. But during the age of dinosaurs, birds had teeth, and some did not. However, after the cataclysm, all toothed birds became extinct. Scientists speculate that some birds survived due to the absence of teeth. which is known from fossils of toothless birds. In fact, they lived on a plant-based diet, whereas the toothed birds depended on other animals. According to scientists, this major difference is what allows the toothless birds to survive.

About 66 million years ago today, a giant asteroid hit Mexico. After that, terrible tsunami and earthquake started in the world. The entire atmosphere was mixed with dust so that even sunlight could not reach it.

As a result of this cataclysm, animal-eaters, including dinosaurs, had already died out, and many species of herbivores also began to die out as food for herbivores dwindled. But in this situation the toothless birds are able to sustain themselves by digging in the ground and eating grains or seeds.
