As a result, much more light enters the owl's eye than the human eye. After light enters our eye, it reaches the retina at the back of the eye to form an image of the object in front of us. And that's why we see.

Since more light enters the owl's eye than our own, it is much easier for the owl to see. In addition, owl eyes have a type of special cells called rod cells. These cells help owls see in the dark at night. Owls have more rod cells in their eyes than other animals. So it is very easy for them to see in the dark.

Behind the owl's eyes is a structure called the tapetum lucidum. After light enters the eye, it travels to the rod cells and falls into the tapetum lucidum and finally strikes the rod cells again. As a result, the owl sees the light not once but twice. That is why the night becomes as bright as day for them.

Many people think that owls cannot see during the day. Owls can also see in daylight. However, their pupil constricts less than ours in bright light. So they cannot tolerate strong light. That's why they keep their eyelids half closed in daylight.

They hunt and eat animals like rats, bangs, insects etc. Although they can't see very well up close, they can tell what they preyed on by the special feathers they have near their beaks and claws. Owls have very keen hearing. He also hears the rat munching grain and follows it.
