May 10 voting, May 13 result announcement, Election Commission informed

The date of assembly polls has been announced. On May 10, one-phase voting will be held in the southern states. May 13 result declaration. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar told the press conference.

Congress and JDS have already announced candidates for 124 and 93 seats in the first phase. BJP had won 119 seats in Karnataka assembly polls last time alone. On the other hand, the Congress won 75 seats, while its ally JDS won 28 seats.

For the past few years, the Congress has moved against the BJP on allegations of corruption in Karnataka. On the other hand, the saffron camp is dreaming of winning Karnataka for the second time around the ruling Basbaraj Bommai government's new move on conservation. Last Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanded to form the government again despite going to the foundation stone of the government project in Karnataka. However, with the hope of recapturing Karnataka, the Balian Congress is ramping up its attacks on the BJP by keeping a bird's eye view of the corruption issue. Congress has already taken to the streets in Karnataka to protest the rejection of Rahul Gandhi's MP post.

After the last assembly polls, the Congress formed the government hand in hand with the JDU. HD Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister. A rare picture of opposition unity was seen in Bengaluru on the day the government was sworn in. Along with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Sitaram Yechury, Mayawati were seen on the same stage. However, that government did not last long in Karnataka.
