Lord Ram was sent by Allah to show people the right path: Farooq Abdullah
'Ram', the name has no end of controversy in Indian politics. BJP's slogan Jai Shri Ram has spread no less heat across the country. Farooq Abdullah, a Muslim leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was heard commenting on Lord Ram. His comments created quite a stir. Even the debate has started. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said on Thursday that Lord Ram was "sent by God" to guide people to the right path.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir is not the last to complain that the BJP is using Lord Ram's name only to get votes. He made these remarks while addressing a function at Garnai in Udhampur district to mark the foundation day of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNNP). Kashmir also said, "Elections are coming and huge amounts of money will fly here. Our mothers and daughters will be told about the temple again and again. It may even be that they (BJP) will inaugurate the Ram Mandi on the same day.
This will be done so that people forget about rising inflation and unemployment and think that only they (BJP) are devotees of Ram.” According to the veteran politician, Lord Ram is the deity of all and Allah sent him to preach.
Farooq Abdullah said, "I want to tell you that Lord Ram is not only the God of Hindus, it should be removed from the mind. Lord Ram is the God of all, be it Muslims, Christians or others. Similarly, Allah is the God of all, not just Muslims.
A prominent writer in Pakistan, who died recently, also wrote that Ram was also sent by God to guide people to the right path. So those who say we are the only devotees of Ram, are fools. They only want to sell Rama, they have no affection for him, they only have affection for power."
