Call for dharna in front of Modi's house

Center-state tension was going on over the outstanding allocation for various projects. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee threatened to stage a sit-in near the Prime Minister's residence from the Red Road dharna stage against the Center on charges of 'deprivation'. Trinamool's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also threatened to paralyze Delhi in the meeting of students and youth on this day.

The state has alleged that the Center has withheld Rs 7,000 crore from December 2021 for the 100-day work project. 17 lakh families are suffering from financial deprivation. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has an outstanding amount of Tk 8200 crore for construction of houses for about 11 lakh families. In total, the state claims that they get more than 1 lakh crore rupees from the centre. Mamata started protest against him from this day. From that stage, the Chief Minister said, "I will sit on dharna not once, but a million times to fulfill the demands of the people." There is a responsibility to people. Mamata has courage. If necessary, I can sit next to the Prime Minister's house. I am the people's representative.

Abhishek said in a meeting at the foot of Shaheed Minar near the Dharna Mancha that day, "Bengali will not bow down to the demon of Delhi." We will take this movement to Delhi. I will make Delhi stand still. I will take this claim from Delhi. I am a stubborn boy, I will go alone if necessary.''

The states have alleged that the Modi government is sending teams one after the other even after the states have taken steps on their projects following the Centre's advice. Abhishek demanded that Mamata come to the dharna stage and 151 central teams have been sent to the state. Every month 6-7 groups have come. He complained that not only housing or 100 days of work, the center has blocked 107 projects between 2021 and 2023. In the last one year alone, 66 projects have not given money. In his words, “Employ ED-CBI. Apply as much power as you like. can't do anything. No matter how much the state owes, people have got services. 1 lakh 15 thousand crores withheld. If we get it, many works including houses of 50 lakh people, bridges in districts could have become the state.''

Mamata also raised questions about sending the central team. He questioned the air fare, food and lodging expenses of so many people. He said, "Even if that money was received, it could have been given to some poor people. (State BJP) is saying, don't give money, we won't win.The Trinamool government will show its work." Today, the sit-in program will continue till Thursday evening. Later, in a Facebook post, Mamata wrote, 'No one can harm Bengal as long as I live.... The fall of this anarchy is inevitable.'
