All wishes will be fulfilled in this second Jyotirlinga Darshan of Mahadeva. Worshiping Lord Shiva in the month of Shravan has a special significance. Bholenath's glory is immense even in Kali Yuga. Shiva protects his devotees from all troubles, especially Shiva is happy with little, hence he is called Bholenath.
Lord Shiva has 12 Jyotirlingas. These 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva are located in different states including Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. This Mallikarjuna, called the second jyotirlinga of Shiva, is located on the banks of the Krishna River in the Kurnool district of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. This Jyotirlinga is situated on Srisailam mountain.
According to the scriptures, a person attains moksha only by darshan of Mallikarjuna, the second Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. Shiva removes all the miseries of his devotees. Along with Shiva, Shakti is glorified in the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. Along with Shiva, Goddess Parvati is also seen here. It is also named after Shiva and Parvati. Mallika means Mother Parvati and Arjuna means Lord Shiva i.e. Mallikarjuna. It is believed that seeing the second jyotirlinga of Shiva i.e. Mallikarjuna fulfills all one's wishes.
Bholenath quickly became happy when Mallikarjuna went to Jyotirlinga for darshan and offered bellpatra, dhatura, bhang etc. to Shiva. Water ablution and milk ablution are also believed to give very good results.
