WBSETCL Opens Applications for Technician Apprentice Recruitment 2024-25

In a recent announcement, the West Bengal State Electricity Transport Corporation (WBSETCL) has initiated the recruitment process for Technician Apprentices for the year 2024-25. This opportunity is open to candidates with a minimum secondary pass and an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) degree in the Wireman or Electrician category from any NCVT-approved institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

Prospective candidates must have completed their ITI degree in the years 2021, 2022, or 2023. However, individuals who have previously served in any apprentice position are not eligible to apply.

Vacancy Details:

A total of 67 vacancies are available, including 39 unreserved seats, providing a substantial opportunity for aspiring candidates.

Age Limit:

Applicants should be at least 18 years old as of the year 2024 to be considered for this Technician Apprentice position.

Scholarship and Allowances:

Selected candidates, upon fulfilling the criteria, will be awarded a monthly scholarship of 7700 rupees under the Apprenticeship Act of 1961. It is noteworthy that no additional allowances will be provided. To receive the scholarship, candidates are required to link their Aadhaar with their bank accounts.

Training and Work Details:

The selected candidates will undergo training at various substations within West Bengal. The training program will last for 12 months, and there will be no extension beyond this period. Work hours are scheduled from Monday to Friday, starting at 10 am and concluding at 5:30 pm. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) will be observed as holidays.

Application Process:

Aspiring candidates must register under the 'National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme' (NAPS) by February 7. Subsequently, they can apply with a login ID on Vidyut Nigam's portal. It is crucial to complete the NAPS registration before initiating the application process.

Application Deadline:

The application window opened on January 17 and will close on February 7 at 4 pm. Prospective applicants are urged to complete their applications well before the deadline to ensure their eligibility.

Leave and Benefits:

Selected trainees will enjoy 14 Casual Leaves (CL) and 10 medical leaves per year, providing a balanced work-life structure.
