Waheeda Rehman got the honor of 'Dada Saheb Falke'

Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman received the honor of 'Dada Saheb Phalke'. She will be honored with the 'Dada Saheb Phalke' Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced this on Tuesday. The actress will receive the award at the end of this year. 

Waheeda Rehman is one of the brightest actresses of Indian cinema. Films like 'Guide', 'Pyasa', 'Kagaj Ke Phool', 'Saheb Bibi Golam', 'Khamoshi' created new trends in the history of Indian cinema. Not only the box office, but her amazing performance captured the hearts of the audience as well as the film critics. Waheeda has acted for almost 5 decades. She was seen in the 2015 film 'Viswaroopam 2'.

Waheeda came to the acting world in 1956 from the film 'CID'. After the success of this film, in 1957 she acted as the heroine in the film 'Pyasa'. She also acted in Satyajit Ray's 'Abhiyaan'. Waheeda was once a hot favorite of Bollywood. During that time, various film magazines wrote about her deep relationship with director and actor Guru Dutt. However, this veteran Bollywood actress is not only associated with movies but also with various social services.
