Ajay Banga, the US-nominated candidate for the post of president of the World Bank, is on a visit to India
US nominee for World Bank President Ajay Banga is going to visit India. He will be in New Delhi on March 23 and 24. In India, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister FM Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister EAM S Jayshankar.
It is said that Banga will discuss India's development priorities, the World Bank and the challenges in the world's economic development with the Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Foreign Minister (Banga to Meet PM-FM-EAM).
Besides, Banga will visit Larnet Institute of Skills. This institute works as a network of vocational institutes established in collaboration with National Skills Development Corporation. The World Bank also provided partial financial support for the creation of this institution.
Banga will see what works there. There you will meet participants, staff, alumni. Ajay Banga will also discuss with private organizations about what should be done to improve the quality of life of young students and increase economic opportunities.
Soon after Banga's nomination was announced, the Government of India also supported his candidature. Then many countries came forward in support of Banga. That list includes Bangladesh, Ivory Coast, Colombia, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea and United Kingdom.
Incidentally, Ajay Banga is now on a world tour. The outfit is called Listening Tour. In this tour, he is traveling to different countries in Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia. His trip started from Africa. Finally he will come to Delhi. It is said that he is traveling mainly to discuss with the concerned countries. Meeting with senior government officials, businessmen, leaders, industrialists and distinguished people of different countries. He is trying to get everyone's support to be elected as the president of the World Bank.
