Monorail will run in Newtown. A new feather is going to be added to the crown of state-of-the-art Smart City, the initiative of HIDCO. Newtown has proposed a monorail to ease traffic congestion. HIDCO is taking this innovative initiative to relieve the traffic pressure in the busy time Twit City Rajarhat-Newtown.

According to HIDCO sources, a light rail transit system can be developed in Smart City Newtown. Which is literally like a monorail. HIDCO has proposed to run this monorail from Newtown Action Area-3 to Biswa Bangla Gate Crossing.

Not only here, but this monorail in Newtown can also be connected with Kolkata Metro's Orange Line i.e. East-West Salt Lake Route. Monorail can run over Action Area-1 and Action Area-2. This monorail line will go to Salt Lake Metro. Residents are happy with this initiative of Hidco
