Students will not be taught history of Mughal court, big decision of UP and CBSE board

UP Board and CBSE Board syllabus for 2023-24 academic year has been decided by Uttar Pradesh government. School students will no longer be taught Mughal history. Chapters like Mughal History, Cold War were dropped from the NCERT syllabus in June 2022. The UP Board has decided to follow the NCERT books and syllabus in the state.

The government has clarified that no new chapter has been dropped from today or this month.

Earlier it was reported that the UP government had removed the chapters on rulers and Mughal courts from the history book 'Some Aspects of Indian History'. Apart from this, it is also said to start reading the rise of Islam, clash of cultures, industrial revolution from the eleventh book.
