Laureus Sportsman of the Year Messi, best team Argentina

Argentinian legend Lionel Messi won the 'Laureus World Sports Award' for the second time. 'LM Ten' won the men's category of this prestigious award in Paris, France.

Along with that, Messi's Argentina also won the title of the best team of the year. In addition to Messi, there were five other people in the race to be Laureus' Best of the Year. They are Golden State Warriors basketball star, Stephen Curry, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, France football team forward Kylian Mbappe, Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal and Red Bull's Dutch Formula One driver Max Verstappen. However, in 2022, Argentina won the title in the World Cup in Qatar, and Messi won the award.
