Good news for liquor lovers, special license for drinking at weddings

The Tamil Nadu government has recently issued a new notification regarding alcohol consumption. Till now only a few clubs and expensive hotels and restaurants were given the privilege of this special license. The Home and Excise Department of Tamil Nadu has issued this notification regarding the special liquor license.

It has been said that, in the case of national and international summits, guests will get licenses to serve liquor. This special license will be given to the authority of the conference hall, convention center, or banquet hall. Besides, this license will be given in the case of stadiums, domestic festivals, and weddings as well, the notification said.

The southern state has also specified some conditions for obtaining and using this license. This special license will be valid for one to two days only.

An officer of the rank of deputy or assistant in the excise department will issue this special liquor license. However, permission from the Collector is required for this. If you want to get a license, you have to deposit money. This special license also allows liquor for guests attending national and international conferences. Also, there will be no restriction on their serving of liquor.

From national-international conferences to domestic events or weddings, this special license must be applied for at least seven days before.

To get a special license, the applicant has to fill out the online form. In commercial cases i.e. conference halls, convention centers, or banquet halls authorities want to take this special license for the whole year, they have to pay one lakh rupees as a registration fee. In addition, the local municipal authorities will have to pay 50 to 75 thousand takas for the event.
