Good news for government workers, the government issued a new holiday policy! Now you will get 42 days of leave

If you are also a government employee then this news is important for you. The government has made a new leave policy for employees. Under this, now central employees can get more leave than before. Central employees will now be eligible for Special Casual Leave of 42 days after organ donation.

The Official Memorandum (OM) issued by the DoPT stated that if an employee donates any body part, it is major surgery. This requires hospitalization as well as recovery time.

For the purpose of helping a human being and promoting organ donation among central employees, any employee should be given a maximum of 42 days of special leave. Rules have also been set for this. As per the current rules, a maximum of 30 days of leave is granted as a casual leave in a calendar year. The new rule came into effect on April 25, 2023.

The memorandum issued by DoPT states that this order will not apply to all employees under CCS (Leave) rules. This rule is being enforced on selected employees. It is said that the new rules regarding leave, and the new leave policy will not be applicable to Railway employees, and All India Service employees.

According to the notification issued by the government, the maximum leave will be 42 days for surgery to remove the donor organ and then for resumption of work. For this, leave will be granted on the recommendation of a physician registered by the Government. Such leave can be taken from one week prior to hospitalization.
