Low-quality drugs are being manufactured in India, 18 companies may lose their licenses

The center is going to take a big decision on several pharmaceutical companies of the country. The Center is going to cancel the licenses of 18 drug manufacturing companies for allegedly manufacturing substandard drugs. Health Ministry sources told a national media that show cause notices have been sent to a total of 26 pharmaceutical companies.

The Drugs Controller General of India will also visit 76 pharmaceutical companies. Such allegations have been leveled against domestic companies after the deadly bacteria found in cough syrup and recently cancer drugs. There have also been reports of deaths due to Indian medicines from various countries. Last month, Gujarat-based pharma company Zydas Lifesciences was also sued by the US. 55,000 generic drugs used to treat gout were recalled due to problems. Three employees of a pharmaceutical firm in Noida were also arrested for manufacturing and selling adulterated medicines after the deaths of 18 children in Uzbekistan after consuming cough syrup made by an Indian firm came to light. Even Uttar Pradesh drug authority tested samples of Marion Biotech products and found adulteration in 22 drugs.

The World Health Organization expressed concern. The WHO has already issued a warning about the material prepared in the Ceylon lab. The deadly bacteria were discovered in a batch of cancer drug agents. The immune system of cancer patients is already low. If this bacteria enters through life-giving chemo, there is a risk of loss of life.
