I am very jealous of Mamata didi! Why did Salman suddenly say this?
The 29th Kolkata Film Festival witnessed a star-studded opening ceremony at the Netaji Indoor on Tuesday afternoon, featuring renowned personalities such as Sourav Ganguly, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Mahesh Bhatt, and Anil Kapoor. However, it was Salman Khan who stole the show, injecting humor and charisma into the event.
Known as 'Bhaijaan' in the film industry, Salman Khan took the stage and immediately lightened the serious atmosphere with his natural and humorous demeanor. Addressing the audience, he remarked on the challenge of following the serious speeches of his fellow guests, stating, "Those who said it before me upset me. Because they left nothing for me to say."
Reflecting on his previous visit to Kolkata, where he had given a concert at the East Bengal Ground and met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Salman shared anecdotes with the audience. He humorously recalled Mamata Banerjee's house visit, jokingly comparing the size of her residence to his modest one-room flat in Mumbai's Bandra.
Salman, who had promised to return to Kolkata during his previous visit, fulfilled his commitment and graced the opening ceremony. He sat on the stage next to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, engaging in conversations and even addressing the audience in Bengali, showcasing his connection with the local culture.
When Mamata Banerjee requested Salman to come back to Kolkata, the actor graciously promised not only to return but also to shoot in the city. He praised the talent of Bengal and expressed gratitude for the contributions of Bengalis to Bollywood, stating, "Now Bollywood is alive because Bengalis are there. We have given you work for so long. This time it's our turn to come here and work."
Salman Khan's presence added a delightful touch to the Kolkata Film Festival's opening ceremony, leaving the audience with smiles and anticipation for his future endeavors in the city.New chief minister in three states, BJP wants to give a 'surprise' before 2024!
