Handpump is not, this time the lamppost is the rise of muscle power! How is Sunny's 'Gadar 2'?

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released in 2001. The film's sequel 'Gadar 2' was released after 22 years. The world has changed radically in the intervening two decades. But director Anil Sharma did not change. The audience already knew this after seeing the teaser, trailer or song scene of the film.

Still, for those who are going to the hall, it can be said for sure that they are actually going to see an old world. But did the 'old rice' of nostalgia grow? How is Sunny Deol's 'comeback movie'?

In 2022, however, a film of Sunny Deol was released. Sunny's performance in the film 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist' was rightly appreciated. But the desire of Sunny Deol fans was not satisfied. So for them, this is the comeback of 'Guru'. It goes without saying that the 65-year-old hero is the star of the film. And he fulfilled the expectations of the audience to the fullest. In 2001, forty-five-year-old Sunny picked up Tubeoil. And now he has removed the entire lamp post from the wheel of the cannon with a huge hammer, the rickshaw. He roared after beheading the enemy with a hammer blow. Most importantly, he manages to make the 'larger than life' image completely believable despite the obvious impression of ageing in the close-up shots.

Everyone knows the story of the film. Just before the Indo-Pak war of 1971, a helpless father arrived in Pakistan to rescue his captive son. Meanwhile, 'the enemy is very fierce'. Major General Hamid Iqbal. The ruthless Pakistani army officer aims to teach Tara Singh a lesson. Last time, he single-handedly blew up 400 Pakistani soldiers and took the girl of that country to his own country. Now his direct challenge, 'Dekte hai aaj yeh kya ukharta hai.' However, the story of the film is not exactly what it seems from the trailer. But that's the main narrative. Know what will happen in the end. But it will not be difficult to sit for 3 hours. The condition is the same. You must be a Sunny fan. If not, at least be a fan of typical Bollywood action films of the nineties of the last century.

If one hero of this film is Sunny, the other hero is Deshabhakti. As 'Vandemataram' plays in the background, and Sunny beats up the Pakistani soldiers, the thunderous sound of city applause in the hall shows that Anil Sharma has got the scene just right. In addition, various scenes from the first film have returned again and again to make the film successful. The aim is to tickle the mercury of nostalgia. That's why the songs 'May Nikla Gaddi Leke', 'Ur Jaa Kale Kawa' were recycled. But still, the flaws in the film are still there. However, the story of the cow climbing the tree must be left out. It is not possible to capture that in a neat 'Mass Movie'. Popcorn, cold drinks, and dark drinks usually do not hinder the enjoyment of the picture.

But in these twenty-two years, the chemistry of 'entertainment' has changed a lot! The hero, the hero's son, and his entire family, including his lover, are tied up with the villain's hot dialogues or falling in love with Sunny's son Jeet (Utkarsh Sharma) just because the script dictates, which is difficult to digest today. The beginning of the film is unnecessarily long. But the real 'USP' of the film is the father-son relationship is not established in that way. But that's not Sunny, Anil Sharma's son Utkarsh is responsible. He and Amisha Patel are the weakest part of the film. Both of them performed badly. Anil-Putra still fits in the action scene. But the dance songs or the romance or the emotional scenes with the parents are totally inconsistent excellence. However, the director planned to 'launch' him or 'Gadare'! Amisha's overacting is also annoying. Manish Wadha, who clashed with Sunny, was not bad. But in some scenes, his performance is also tied to a high tone. Which is noticeable in such a picture. But Simrat Kaur's sweet presence is good.

But all these flaws are covered by Sunny alone. Just seeing him throughout the film seems like time has stopped. Ageing has taken its toll on the body, but it hasn't affected performance. Such a big picture can be seen sitting, it is only for him. For his fans, therefore, 'Gadar 2' is absolutely a 'paisa ushul' film. Pathan was released at the beginning of the year. Shah Rukh Khan's dramatic comeback set a precedent. The wait for 'Jawane' has also started next month. But before that, Sunny's return to the screen was not as royal but shocking, it can be said without a doubt. Rajinikanth's 'Zeller' was released yesterday. Fans are shocked by the swag of a 72-year-old superstar. Sunny may not have stardom like Shahrukh-Rajni. But the magic of his 'two-and-a-half-kilo' hands is not over yet. He explained that he does not go short to drag a picture alone.

At the end of the film, it is known that this is not the end. Next will be the third film of the 'Gadar' series. How much trust the director has in Sunny can be understood from this decision. That hope is not unwarranted, there is proof of that in 'Gadar 2'
