Andal to Jaipur', from Ispatnagari to the pink city in just 4 hours!
This time the connection between the industrial city of the state and the pink city of the country is by air. For the first time in the country, private Andal Airport will operate flights between Rajasthan's Jaipur. Incidentally, Jaipur is known as Pink City. Andal airport authorities said that this service is about to be launched. For the time being, flights will fly from Andal to Jaipur three days a week. It will take only 4 hours to connect the industrial city with the desert city.
At present, flights from Andal to Delhi besides Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai are running successfully. Air service from Andal to Jaipur in Rajasthan is going to start three days a week from May 30. Currently, flights from Durgapur to Jaipur and from Jaipur to Durgapur will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Apart from the residents of Asansol and Durgapur, many people from Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, East Burdwan travel through Andal Airport.
Even residents of the neighboring state of Jharkhand also take advantage of this airport. t is known that the plane will also land at Patna airport, the capital of Bihar, on the way to and from Andal to Jaipur. The concerned aircraft will remain at Patna airport for 30 minutes. Passengers can also board in Patna. Then the plane will leave for the destination.
Three days a week, the aircraft will take off from Jaipur at 12 noon and reach Andal via Patna at 3:30 pm. Again the same plane will take off from Andal at 4 pm and reach Jaipur in Rajasthan by 7.50 pm via Patna. Currently, many students from Durgapur and surrounding districts go to Rajasthan to study. Besides, the people of the state visit different tourist centers of Rajasthan at different times of the year. It is believed that this air connectivity will bring a different dimension to the tourism of the two states.
During the left period in 2009, the land acquisition work for the construction of the private Andal Biman Nagari started. The then West Bengal government was the first to take such an initiative in the country. About 2 thousand 300 acres of land in 11 mouzas were acquired. The work was completed in 2011 after a political change. The first air taxi service from Andal Airport to Kolkata was launched under the initiative of the State Transport Department.
After that Air India's weekly flight service to Delhi started. But the air service from Andal to Delhi came to a standstill due to lack of passengers. Later again, Air India flight service started from Andal to Delhi on the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. After that, air connections were established one by one with different states of the country.
