Amitabh, Virat, Shahrukh, Gates lost blue tick on Twitter for not paying money

From Bollywood stars, and politicians to many dignitaries of society, on Thursday, they lost the recognition of being 'special' on Twitter. The 'blue tick' symbol is next to their names has been removed from Twitter.

The list also includes personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Gandhi. From now on, only those Twitter users who subscribe to the 'Blue Tick' service with money will have this special symbol next to their name.

Earlier, Twitter used to have a blue tick next to the names of about three lakh users. Among them were actors and actresses, athletes, politicians, and journalists. More than half of these people have had the blue tick removed from their names. Like Shah Rukh, who lost his 'blue tick' on Twitter after Thursday afternoon, stars like Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian also lost it.

From Bill Gates to Pope Francis, personalities have lost the mark of being special. According to the microblogging site, users will have to pay 657 takas per month to keep 'Blue Tick' from now on. If a company wants to put a 'blue tick' next to their name on Twitter, they will have to spend a lot, about 82 thousand rupees.
